About
Learn more about The Canine Research Group.
The Canine Research Group is a science-driven organisation that supports conservationists through research projects involving scent-detection dogs. We work exclusively with rescue dogs, training and transforming mixed-breed dogs into skilled partners for conservation work.
Our director, Carolynne Geary, is an award-winning scientist and published academic with a strong background in conservation. Her passion for dogs and wildlife extends to community-based scent detection dog training programmes that nurture empathy in young children, fostering a love for all animals — not just dogs.
Our mission is simple: to connect people and animals, build empathy, and harness the extraordinary abilities of dogs to change people and uncover hidden conservation research data.
